2015: We will mobilise 20m votes – Jonathan Youth Vanguard

GEJ 1
By Gloria Emmanuel          Ahead of the 2015 Presidential election, Jonathan Youth Vanguard also known as ‘Joy 2015′ has vowed to mobilise at least 20 million votes from Nigerian youths to ensure the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan.
In view of this, the youth vanguard on Tuesday in Abuja officially commissioned its national headquarters located inside the Garki mall.
Speaking at the official commissioning, the Director General of the youth body, Mr. Orubebe Ebis said the opening of the national headquarter was one of their series of conscious efforts to re-position the organisation for more efficient engagement with numerous Nigerian Youth groups and organisations for easy interaction and sharing of wider enlightenment on government’s unprecedented achievement towards a better Nigeria with President Jonathan on the saddle.
Mr. Ebis said the fully equipped office will enhance effective discharge of their complex engagements for the re-election of Mr. President in the 2015 presidential election.
According to him, “By today’s event, the Jonathan Youth Vanguard in alliance with other several youth groups and organisations across the 36 states of the federation conveys its preparedness to once again contribute to the return of President Goodluck Jonathan for the benefit of all Nigerians, come 2015.
“Our loyalty and commitment is driven by total conviction that posterity will highlight the patriotic role of our several youth organisations, and many more Nigerians as agent of a historic turning-point represented by the Jonathan administration and the ongoing impeccable developmental landmarks in the political history of our ear country Nigeria.
“We therefore urge all men of good conscience to rise in total support of the effort of the present administration in order to advance the country beyond the reach and strangulation by marauding mediocrity of political highway-men”.
While commissioning the office, the founder/life patron of Joy 2015, George Turnah said the youth vanguard is an organisation with core strength in youth and women mobilisation across the country and beyond.
According to him, “We have been a grassroot flagship following our exclusive impact in the delivery of Goodluck Jonathan and Namadi Sambo ticket in 2011 presidential election and we are also working assiduously to repeat same feat come 2015″.
Also speaking at the event, the National Publicity Secretary, Aruwa Ismaila said the youths body will embark on an aggressive grassroot campaign and mobilisation.
He said Joy 2015 has lined up programmes such as peace initiative, football matches as well as taking relief materials to the displaced persons in the North-East of the country.
