PORT HARCOURT – The Trade Union Congress Nigeria (TUC) Rivers state chapter, Tuesday night announced the suspension of the planned nationwide strike by the Labour Movement billed to commence on Wednesday.
According to a statement by the state chairman, Chika Onuegbu, the suspension was sequel to “agreement reached with the federal government”.
He therefore, directed all affiliates and members of TUC in Rivers state not to participate in the strike.
“TUC Suspends strike action based on agreement with Federal government.
“Therefore all affiliates and members of TUC in Rivers State are hereby directed to go about their normal business.
“TUC will not participate in any strike action, a terse statement issued by Comrade Onuegbu reads.
