Jonathan Vows To Take Back Boko Haram Seized Territories

President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday assured that territories lost in the Northeast to Boko Haram insurgents would be recovered.
Mohammed Wakil, the Minister of State for Power, made the statement, as the president’s representative, during the launch of the Presidential Initiative for the North-East, PINE, in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State. More troops deployment and a Marshal plan for the rehabilitation, reconstruction and redevelopment of the terror-ridden states, Wakil said, are some of the government’s present efforts.
Included in the plan is the educational empowerment for people of the region.
Members of the PINE are President Jonathan’s National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, Victims Support Fund chaired by former Defence Minister, Lt.- Gen. Theophilus Danjuma; the Presidential Committee on Distribution of Relief Materials headed by NEMA Director-General, Malam Sani Sid and Safe School Initiative under the Minister of the Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
