The 3 Most Corrupt African Countries

Corruption seems to be the order of the day in many African Countries… Countries at large even. But it’s worse down here probably because the people do not know their power. Or may be the people are just too busy making a living to care what the leaders and governing bodies are doing. Either ways, here are The 3 Most Corrupt African Countries;

3. Sudan

This one is sad because the country is so rich and should be able to afford to fend for it entire population even if they all sat home and did not work. True story guys, because oil money. But for some sad sad reason the country has been riddled with war, crime and corruption for years now. It unending, the warlords who have this place in their grips have made sure that corruption, terror and crime is standard living condition for most if not all Sudanese in their own country. Heaven save them.

2. Nigeria

I have to be honest, this number 2 spot should have been saved for Burundi but being a Nigerian and haven lived here for most of my adult life I would say it would be unfair to the rest of Africa if someone else occupied this spot. Let me be the first to say nothing works in Nigeria. 100 billion USD could be allocated to fixing electricity today and anticipated to take 3 years to complete and you still won’t have power supply for the next 50 years. The leaders aren’t even pretending to try in Nigeria. Then there is the added bonus of the boko haram menace pillaging our cities and public places with rumours of these terrorists being funded by strong people in Nigerian politics who obviously as always stole all their wealth from loophole that they created in the system. In the times of now, everyone who wants to get into politics in Nigeria does it with clear intentions to steal as much money can be stolen so they can go build a standard life and buy expensive houses in the states. No joke. So let’s take a minute to say a big thank you General Sunny Abacha (late), Ibrahim Babaginda, Olusegun ObasanjoGoodluck Jonathan and the likes for helping make sure our country has next to a bleak future at best. Every creative must now leave Nigeria to succeed if they want to do honest work and earn a decent living. Nigeria Kwezwenu!!!!

1. Somalia

I suppose as poor and as terrible as Nigeria is there was always going to be a worse place out there. If you want to know how terrible Somalia has been in the times of old and now, Buy KNAAN Warsame’s albums “Dusty Foot Philosopher” & “Trabadour”. He is a Somalian who managed to escape the Somalian life and he gave a full account in English. Keeping in mind he could’t even speak a word of English till he was over 30 years old (Which kind of points at no schooling infrastructure where he grew up). Many might dispute this, but Mogadishu Somalia is the most dangerous city in the world. Why? According to Knaan, you are likely to get shot at birth. No exxageration, in his time a mother could be birthing a child with bullets from mercenaries piercing through the windows. Then there is the issue of Child soldiers and what not. Public selling of automatic weapons and bombs is accepted by the Somalian government. The locals have mostly turned to all sorts of unimaginable crimes. You are either a pirate or a kidnapper or something of that sort. I can  not stress enough how much of a name Somalia has made for itself in the last few years.

If you managed to get out of these 3 countries and you are doing fine where you are, I see no reason to go back (Many might attack this chain of thought). But nobody want’s to lose loved ones. In Nigeria you could say goodbye to your cousin and he’s dead by the time he gets to the car park because Boko Haram. In Somalia he could be shot right as he is walking out of the door by a 10 year old kid trying out his new Ak 47. This is not exaggerations, these things are happening. Stay away and stay safe.
