Nigerian military has reportedly arrested a foreign computer expert who allegedly is behind video shots on Boko Haram’s terror attacks sent to online media organization and foreign media houses.
According to Vanguard report, the arrested terrorists is said to have been arrested with some sophisticated equipment and copies of some of the videos the Islamist group had sent to online media houses on their escapades including that of the abducted Chibok girls.
It was gathered from military sources that the computer analyst, who is currently being interrogated, was responsible for configuring computer images website and internet accesses that enables the Boko Haram sect to fight media and psychological operations.
The sources informed that the terrorist was arrested after a shootout with a group of the Boko Haram insurgents that attacked Konduga in Borno State in an attempt to recover the body of the killed impostor of Abubakar Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram.
It was gathered that the arrested foreigner has made shocking confessional statements about the terrorist’s plans and modus operandi as well as their backers.
“We have made a big break through; the computer analyst is opening up and has made revelations on their modus operandi .
“We also discovered that the ICT expert is the back bone of the signals and communication links of lthe ate impersonator, Mohammed Bashir, who had been posing as Abubakar Shekau, whenever he talked on the youtube,”a military source told Vanguard.
It was also gathered from the arrested insurgent how the late Impostor of Shekau was able to reach out to the world and claim victory over Nigerian troops after several attacks.
Among the terrorist’s confessions was that there is a successor crisis in the camp of the sect, adding that some of their members are yet to be disarmed because they were yet to come to terms to the fact that erstwhile leader, Shakau has been killed.
It would be recalled that the Nigerian military has been gaining upper hand against the Boko Haram terrorists recently.
