Buhari ahead of Jonathan by over 2m votes

As Nigerians await the formal declaration of the winner of the March 28 presidential election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been releasing the results as they trickle in from states.
On Monday, results from 18 states and FCT were collated at the National Collation Centre in Abuja, and received by the INEC chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega, after being duly endorsed.
From the results, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari, is leading by 2, 032, 226 million votes.
While Buhari won in 10 states, the presidential candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), President Goodluck Jonathan won in 8 states and FCT.
The breakdown shows Buhari polling a total of 8, 520, 436 so far and Jonathan polling 6, 488, 210 votes.
Prior to calling it a date after receiving all the results that were available, INEC boss, Prof Jega, said the National Collation Centre will reopen on Tuesday.
